William “WillyRags” Ragulsky is a Native Coloradan with an insatiable thirst for the outdoors. As a toddler, he often accompanied hi father on fishing trips near and far. As he grew older, scouting and hunting became a large part of his life. These lessons taught him to be a self sufficient and goal driven individual. One summer just outside of Yellowstone, William wanted to venture out a bit further from shore but in order to do that he needed the swimming, canoeing, and kayaking merit badges. While he was attaining those goals, he was still focused on fishing. Well, subsequent summer camps and wasted money in the attempt to attain merit badges, William became hooked on Canoe and Kayak fishing.
After High School, William enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. His first duty station was in Okinawa Japan where his off time was spent snorkeling and surfing waves out of an Ocean Kayak Scrambler. Following that tour, he learned the ins and outs of slatwater fishing from the piers of South Eastern Virginia. From there he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, after which he moved back to Colorado.
After the Corps, William returned to Virginia and upon his return he took up the relatively new “fad” of Kayak fishing. Over the years he has won tournaments, caught numerous fresh and saltwater citation species, and has made a ton of great friends along the way.
After his day job, you can often find William on his local waters, at the tackle shop, or finding new spots on the coastal waters of the Carolinas. If you see him, stop on over and say hello!
